is there a vvvv object that allows the patch to access data from the web using some form of web scripting language or extracting data from existing websites?

you may want to have a look at
WeatherReport (Network).v4p to be found at kalle.Patches, which retrieves local wheather data from www.

also @david made a WebInterface which can be found in the girlpowerfolder
