Visual 'flourish' effect

Anyone have any tips or patches to create something like a ‘flourish’ effect?

Like these -

The idea being you could animate them growing. A bit like an L-system I think.

I’m sure I’ve seen a patch around that did something similar.

I saw these guys showing this at node10 and it was all mesh. @dottore)) and ((user:defetto. Maybe they’ll give some tips, please :).

Have been playing with the vine-like-curves patch. Very nice

Not as nice as that Abstract Birds video though. Stunning work. Tips would be devoured with glee!
