Timbap - a tangible DJing interface

I spent my free time in the last year patching an application in vvvv:

timbap is a digital DJing system that does not need input from
keyboard or mouse nor does it require any modified hardware.

It uses the turntable interaction as the only input
for both music browsing and playback manipulation.

Currently, there is a limited beta test going on. If you register
in the forums at http://forums.timbap.de , you can
download the application there and have a try.

For the full functionality you need MsPinky or Torq control vinyl (~18 Euro)
and a turntable that is connected to your PC.
But you can also sneak into the basic functionality without it.

A big thanks goes out to the vvvv developers and elektromeier.
His Text(EX9) patch has been a great help for me.

The application consists of a visualizer component (vvvv patches) and an audio component (a VST plugin). I will later post the visualizer component in my user page.

There are also some modules which I will extract and upload, for example some sort of a logging framework.

I would love to present it there. Maybe it’s also an option for the aftershow party. There are already some DJs I know who are experienced with it.

Well, I submitted the project. At least I think I did.
Let’s see what the masters say.

And the plugin workshop is definitely a must for me.
