Texturing 3D objects

I would like to use an textured object from a 3D application.
When I export the “X-File” there is no texture information attached. How can I create and connect a texture node for cylindrical or spherical mapping ???
Is there a limit of the texture size ?

hi, if you create texture coordinates for your object in the 3d app, it should export the x-file with it. sometimes you have to check some export options to include it. … and have a look at this thread: free 3d modelling tool

can be lower in many cases. depends on the graphic hardware.

I usually use Maya 6.0 - I will download an X-Exporter and try it out.
