Hello guys,
i have got a text in an iobox and i want to choose with getslice which slice is shown to the spector, with “text metrics”, but i don’t know why it only shows a few slices correctly and the other ones are overlaid.
hope you understand what i mean.

From what i see this list doesnt really provide much structuring, you need a lot of guesswork to reliably find the titles here. Do you have another data source with more formatting. something like a csv or an xml file?
The Separate (String) node will cut the incoming string into individual slices after the occurence of a specific character. In your patch you didn´t provide any separator in the pin. If you put a | in there, things work slightly better.
Note that you can see much more in your IOBox when resizing them.
I agree, it is a very Bad Database indeed.
But, I notice the word “Votes:” is always on the 2nd line off every chunk off movie info, so using that I was able to split up your movie, so you can use a getslice, and that returns you all the Data about 1 movie.
And since I like the challenge…

thanks for your efforts, but I think I explained my opinion a little bit bad.
I recornized that i had not the hole text in my file, sorry.
The separation i did is working, i get erverything wich is between a “|”(pipe), so i allways want that the year is shown at first, wheater there is more information or not, like this:
“1920”
or
“1921
film x
votes:34…
director…”
my problem is:
that the text is not corrctly shown with the “text (metrics EX9)”
so there the text is displayed twice, infact its overlaid, but I do not find out why.
i hope now you know what i mean, i sry that i don’t explain it like this befor :(

ok the overlay was infact of my old version of the “text(ex9 metrix)”, now it shows the text correctly, but
the linebreak is not working…
