Talking Head

A friend of mine has asked me to try and creat a audio rective disembodied head like in those 80s movies. I can model a good enough head in Blender but after that im a bit unsure where to go. If i import the X file is there a sneaky way to move grid points in relation to the audio to give the impression that the head is talking? It woul dbe easier just to video a real person and process it but wheres the fun in that?

Any help woul dbe greatly appreciated.

WOW, thats superb, I never thoguht of useing seperate meshes and morphing between them, when i get more time (is there ever more time!) ill have a play with this, thanks David for pointing me towards this.
