no, i´d vote for a more comprehensive gallery section. thats what a wiki is for. everybody here is invited to fill out their user pages, extend text on pages or even invent new pages.
and note that patch images doesnt contain all necessary information for reconstructing the patch, as for example much information can be stored within each pin. while this may be debatable the clear advantage is that patches look much less cluttered (in comparison to pd or max patches where each pin needs to be initialized with its own bang).
