Live patching vs. frames skipped

for vj-ing purposes i find it usefull to be able to patch visual content on-the-fly, not just pre-saved patches with pre-assigned controllers.
from my experience, this approach is being held back by frames skipped for every node/link/scroll action.

can this be overcome?

as far as i know the vvvv-gui and the rendering are running in the same thread. so nono, until vvvv becomes multithreaded.

if i boygroup 2 systems will i get skipped frames in any situation? i.e. when i ctrl+b something
