Kinect openNI (asus) not working > beta 28

Hi guys, the Asus Xtion using the OpenNI nodes just works for me up to beta 28. For later vvvv releases no driver is shown and the Kinect OpenNI outputs nothing. This is what TTY says when opening the help patch:

Hmmm, works fine for me on all vvvv versions on XP and Win7 64. Your OS version?

Does NIViewer work?

Is a PrimeSense device listed in the device manager?

Installed versions of OpenNI, NITE, and Sensor?

Sometimes the USB port (USB2, yes?) can become completely FUBAR for the Xtion and I’ll have to plug the Xtion into a different port or reboot.

OpenNI Drivers installed from Kinect vvvv page, working great only up to beta28.
Since it’s working with 28 it shouldn’t be USB port problem. Device is listed in the device manager, I didn’t check the NIViewer yet.

There is another forum post about OpenNI driver not found in later releases then beta28 but I’m testing with the Asus Sensor and the drivers recommended on the vvvv page, Win7 64 & beta31.2_x86

Here’s the various versions I have used successfully up to 31.2 (x86):

I double-checked, and the OpenNI.net.dll installed in my addonpack/lib/node/plugins folder is 1.5.2.23 (right-click, properties, version). I remember at some point copying in different versions trying to fix a problem, so might check that is what is distributed.

OpenNI 1.5.2.23, 1.5.4.0 installs Driver 3.1.3.1
OpenNI 1.5.7.10 installs PS driver 3.2.0.1
OpenNI 2.x installs PS Driver 3.2.0.2
