Does HTMLTexture support hardware acceleration?

Dump question, but does HTMLTexture (thus CEF) support hardware acceleration (for animations) at all? Having some performance issues here and wanted to ask this before digging deeper into the issue.

Would be nice if somebody with more insights into the topic could shed some light.

Reading through the openframeworks forum on a similar topic, seems there should be hardware acceleration available … at least for recent versions CEF.
