Can someone tell me what the DisplaceMB (EX9.Texture Filter) node does?

It’s a displace with motionblur - motionblur on what?

When giving it normal Texture Coordinates as control input, this happens, as expected:

But when giving it just a white texture, I have no clue why it doesn’t give me a single color as output:
