Color vertex buffer

Hi can someone take a look at this patch and tell me how you can color the distorted mesh that I have made. I want one mesh to be the spread of colors that is being put out by the color node. I can make it one color with the phong point but it doesn’t spread. Any help would be greatly appreciated bear with me I’m still learning. Thanks
