Augmented sculpture

hey, i was wondering how I would go about creating a generative work like this

how would I get the wireframe outlines of the quad to grow and receed like this, any ideas?


i would start by building a scene in 3d (that is virtual or real space).

then proceed by placing a projector in that space which has a good view onto the scene.

after that do EXACTLY the same (including the projector) in the space which you didn’t start with (virtual or real) ;)

try to get the same relation from projector to scene in both spaces. if you now project the rendered virtual scene onto the real you will get an augmented sculpture.

the rest is only about finding ways how to render this virtual sculpture. (effects…)
