Audio in

hi
any anyone point me to some patches that use audio line input to produce visuals controlled by the music?

thanks

Just attach it to an rms or fft node, and use getslice to get left or right channel (RMS) or the band you want to use (FFT, slice 0 is always 0 from what I remember, don’t know why…), you may want to use decay and a map node to control the attack and decay, and the values out.

For example, get tonfilms BeatDetection, ceck the FFT4channel helpfile.

You don’t ‘produce’ visuals, you just use it to control the input pins off the nodes in your patches.

Thanks. I understand what you mean , West. I meant ‘use the analysis data from the fft of the sound input to generate control streams which can modulate parameters of visual synthesis and processing modules, with the aim of producing visuals controlled by the audio’ !

can vvvv support multiinput sound cards eg with asio? am interested in doing this process on several instruments at once.

thanks
