ATI Eyefinity / DisplayPort

@robe any special brand/model ? And, why can t this be done in software? aka where is my EDIDEmulator node?
S.

@io
You can choose any brand you want but you’ve to spend al least 50€.
More you spend more you have… like in life in general.

For the model depend if you want to store VGA o DVI signal.

This is a low price DVI model (Didn’t test it personally)

And this for VGA (I can recommend this)
http://www.amazon.com/ConnectPRO-VGA-EDID-Ghost-Emulator-Professional/dp/B0032ETRAK

No Idea about DisplayPort…

It’s usefull when the projector is not connected directly to the videoboard.
(matrices/splitter etc.)

Cheers
:D

great! was wondering about a DVI Detective alternative

Updates to this thread:
The ZOTAC DisplayPort to 2xHDMI works great with these cards, and are now very available (EBuyer)

And now there’s a double height version of the card that kalle posted which is reasonably affordable:

Just a side note or warning on ATI GPU’s with two DVI ports. most of them have only one dual link DVI, the other is single Link DVI on most of the cards I have been finding.

@sunep - yep, this one for certain! it even says so on the back (SL-DVI, DL-DVI)

The outline really hints that you can only use 1 of the right hand ports at once (DVI or the DisplayPort). However, the card is heavily advertised as being used for 6 displays, and I think Kalle noted this as well.

@elliot does more than 2 of the zotac adapters work with one eyefinity GPU?

the presumption is ‘yes, but not in grouped mode’
i.e.

  • you can have 1 renderer per zotac
  • you can not have 1 renderer for 2 or more zotacs grouped together
