Could we get a tiny indicator that a link, node, pad, etc. have a specific operation assigned to them.
Sometimes it can be hard to see where an operation is assigned or not.
In the example above, the other operation is actually assigned to one of the links from the IOBoxes, but there is no way to tell really.
Maybe it could be tooltip on the link. Or a small dot on the link or something like that, just like an in/output gets a small dot when it is configured.
Thanks for considering!
Enable Show Assignment Icon On Nodes, it’ll show a little dot next to nodes that have an operation explicitly assigned to them :
This does not seem to work for Process Nodes though, could the devvvvs confirm?
Thanks!
Edit : I guess this is because a process node could be fragmented, thus the assignment dot does not really make sense, right?
Ah cool, I didn’t know about this setting, thanks!
Yes, that is why I am suggesting to show a dot next to the link. Because the operation might be set on the link, pad or in/output. That’s when you can get errors that, at least for beginners, will be quite confusing and for everyone else just a bit annoying to find, because it doesn’t show or tell you anywhere that a link is assigned to an unmatching other operation. You can just select everything and → Clear assignment and do it again. Or you can right-click → Assign and check which one it is assigned to on every link, pad and in/output.
Or another solution might be to actually show the link that has an unmatching assignment in the color of the assigned operation. But if you set an operation on a different part of it, it now colors everything the same, but shows an error. It could just leave the link in the other color and then it would be easier to spot.
