Crash on one machine when opening a blank patch

Hey hey,

We’re having a problem with recent vvvv previews on one of our machines.

Context

  • Opening vvvv throws an “EGL Display” error and then silently crashes after a few seconds
  • Even if opening a blank patch without any arguments, it crashes (from Launcher or from explorer directly)
  • We tried all previews from 6.7-145 to 6.7-163. The crash start happening at 6.7-157 and happens on all following previews
  • Rebooting did not help

Hey sebes,

I am not absolutely sure, but it sounds like an issue we are aware of and about to tackle.
Please try a stupid hotfix until we fix the issue:
copy those two files from an old vvvv gamma installation:

and put them in your current vvvv installation folder.

fixes the issue here, screenshots above are on my machine. Still strange others dont have the issue. Heres my hardware:
CPU : Amd Ryzen 9 7950XD
560.81 Nvidia Studio Driver, rtx4090
