I felt the user’s representation in the map could be improved from the current one. Rather saying so i did a simple one and attached the file here, just a humble contribution from my side. The idea is to have the icon like triangle and letter “v” inside. seeing a cloud of these icons will reflect like “VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV…” all around the globe ;)

May I suggest you to “light up” the shadow? It could lead to a not clear view, hiding other icons in BG. It wouldn’t be such a big problem, but would probably force user to zoom, in or out, constantly.

I think the best way is to see it in cloud view and adjust the shadow opacity accordingly.

Thank you mate. I just noticed that letter “V” was not aligned and positioned nicely, so here i fixed and attached again. Does this going to make it for user maps? :)

What do you say of a V that holds a square (now yellow, then gray, then…) between its branches (posted a quick one)?

Is this to represent vvvv square metaphor? It’s a good idea too but we need pointer kind of look for the map and i am afraid square doesn’t show the location precisely as inverse triangle.
I appreciate that you are investing your time on experimenting with the map.
