Stable version's content browser won't load

hi all,

2021.4+ show “oops… unable to load content”
2021.3+ show a black renderer.

tried rebooting the machine. tried uninstalling and reinstalling 4.x verions.

interestingly, preview builds 3…x and 4.x work as expected.

anyone else got that problem?
