Smoothstepping a procedural noise mask

Hey there,

I am currently trying to make a mask out of a certain threshold of procedural noise and then after having this “hard 0 and 1” mask I want to make it softer again. I thought it would be easy to pull this of using smoothstep but it didn’t work at all…
Does someone know the right way to do that?
