Quad with texture with transparent parts throwing shadows


I was wondering if it is somehow possible to have a quad with a texture with ‘holes’ in it (transparent parts) throw corresponding shadows onto another surface.

nice one, but it looks like this can only be used as a dropshadow. I was thinking about shadows thrown on a real 3D world behind it, and with a light source that can be moving. As far as I can tell, that wouldn’t work with this patch?

of course not.
for 3d i suggest you check tonfilm modules#tonfilm shadowsonplane,
or mre-multipass-render-engine - there is Shadowmap module.
