is there a way to work with meshes made up of polygons? vvvv seems to get triangles out of any polygon I use (xfiles).

A problem is less of a problem if you know that it is a problem.
hey, actually it is not really a problem since everything which has to be rendered on a gpu has to be made out of triangles as it is the only geometry a gpu can render. so some content creation packages may give you the ability to model in n-gon topology, but before you get to see something on your screen it is always tesselated down to triangles…
