i messed with the pointsprites.fx shader (shader gallery) for an hour, trying to get a spreadable texture transform working so i can give each sprite a different look. no luck so far.
if someone is bored, can you have a look at the shader and point me at the right direction ?

i’ve made that more than a year ago so i cant remember well
but usually you need to supply an extra textcoord to the shader
because the first coord always gets reset at the beginning of the pixelshader
gonna check when i get the time
