Particles - Kinect Emitter - problem when setting longer lifetime

hi all,

Regardless if I use a modifier or hardcode the lifetime into the kinect emitter itself - when trying to override the lifetime of one frame (p.lifespan = psTime.y / 2; // ensure that each particle lives only 1 frame) I get the folling artefacts:


I need two kinect emitters. one for the realtime points and a second one for effects with longer living particles. I am open for suggestions how to accomplish this in another way.


ok I found the girlpower patch “kinect setup” which solves my problem.
still I would like to understand why this is happening.
