I’ve got a patch with a number of random(value) nodes in, that when I hide the sub patch with them in no longer give random numbers they just get stuck on the last number they outputed.
This is the error message this patch gives me.
I’ve now discovered by opening it in a new project that I dont get the error except when its in the big patch however it stills sticks on a number when minimised. Except when you look at the output of the string node, when all magically resolves itself!

hi catweasel!

there were two bugs.
one in the random node (which didn’t evaluate for a certain frame)
and one in the getslice (node) which couldn’t deal with negative slice indices.

fixed for next version.

Thats plagued me for ages but was really hard to demonstrate outside of that rather convoluted patch!
