I’d like to communicate with to several devices via the IrDa-port of my laptop but don’t have a clue how to do this.

isnt the irda port supposed to show up as a serial port? to which devices you want to speak to?
Irda is basically very similar to a standard serial connection, only with shorter pulses to save energy (only 3/16 of regular rs232 pulses). http://www.hw.cz/english/docs/irda/irda.html has some details. http://www.irda.org comes also to mind, but i didnt found much info on the first attempt…
