HD Video Signal extension

using the shoutbox I asked suggestions regarding equipment to ensure an optimal video signal extension (in my case to bring HQ video from my graphic card on stage to the projector in the backstage).
I collect here the replies from users in case someone else is interested.
Any other suggestion or feedback is welcome.

keftaparty:
You can check blackmagic’s HDMI>SDI converters. If you’re lucky your projector has SDI input

manuel:
it has to be 6G-SDI to handle 4k

robotanton:
a friend of mine (mfx) suggested a pair of Kramer TP-580 transmitters and a HDBaseT cable. 4K at 100m.

catweasel:
Hd SDI, you can get HDMI-> SDi convertors easily, and BNC will run 100’s of meters

Cheers

EDIT: haven’t tried it, added it for completeness

i always used dvi fiber optics extenders from different brands and never had serious problems. they can also be easily rented for testing purpose.

I’m with sebl on that one

regarding black levels be aware of cheap hdmi <-> sdi converter (blackmagic)

@circuitb: do you recommend a good quality product or brand?

from my experience the previous (2012-2016) BM mini and battery converters shift the black levels
the teranex was ok and support 12G sdi up to 2160p60

just checked their website they’ve updated the mini&battery series to support the 6G sdi
not sure if they solve the black levels issue
