when trying to add a boygroup server node at the server, the clients start to add empty root patches until they crash.
we’re trying to find out why. because nothing is boygrouped yet. there is just the boygroup server node, trying to find the clients. the root patch of the server looks fine, nothing crazy inside. any idea why the clients seem to think they have to open some root patch ?

yeah it was the same trouble.
the bugger is found and has nothing to do with boygrouping, just shows up when boygrouping.
there is some nasty root stuff in the v4p file, wondering where this was coming from.
