In a boygroup, the server and clients need to know each other’s IPs. But what if there’s no guarantee the IPs will be the same each time the application is started? Is there some existing solution to make sure all the IPs are up to date on startup?
give the machines static IPs
Find out own IP client wise, broadcast it in the network along with its hostname. Let the server sort out the mess… ;)
or
Let the server ping all IPs in the range. ask all of them responding for their name. Let the server sort out the mess… ;)
