I don’t know a lot of about audio processing but… If i have an audio file (for example the sound of a birth) and audio in, is compare both sounds possible to say if both are equal?
any idea?
thanks,

generally thats not simple at all. i think you’ll never get a positive result for EQUAL sounds. surely you want to prove if the sounds are SIMILAR. But in which points exactly do they have to be similar?
IMHO its far about speech recognition want you want.
one thing you could do with vvvv:
use microsofts speech recognition together with GlovePie to submit simple messages to vvvv
simple example scripts and patches at kalle-SpeechRecognition

Thanks kalle,
What I want is to recognize when somebody opens a coke tin by the sound it makes…I’m sure that I’m dreaming… :-)
Thanks for the example.

so you only want to recognize ONE sound?
that should be possible somehow.
perhaps PD is the better tool for the audio part of what you want to do.
vvvv and PD can communicate via several ways (MIDI,OSC,Netsend/-receive)
unfortunetaly i have no experience with PD but for sure somebody is around here with at least a little experience…
quite likely speech recognition could be trained to non-verbal noises, too?
