Hi
I am pretty new to V4, getting my head around most of the simple stuff now, but I am looking for some advice/ guidence with the best way to create simple block/shape animations which I can use as a starting point for some content I am designing.
Anyone know of any good tutorials or patches for this type of thing??

Your best bet is to start with this series of tutorials and sample patches:
parasitic-design-a-vvvv-beginners-cookbook
in no time you should be able to create similar works. One thing about vvvv website, it is not short of sample patches and instructions, you could gain so much knowledge by sifting through the pages.
