Configurable defaults for newly created nodes, including things like setting default pin values and default visibility of pins (I usually don’t need the Epsilon pin of = (Value) ), etc.

QuickNodes appears to provide this functionality in a basic sense (and I really need to start using that). It would be nice to be able to provide it with more than just a list of node names, and to be able to have it include groups of nodes. For example, inserting a RandomSpread hooked up to an LFO, etc. Maybe that could be accomplished by telling QuickNodes that an entry in its list is to have a modules contents inserted and not just a node that references the module.

check this: patchlet-(vvvv)
save your favourite patchlets as patches in a specific folder.
this new module calls a filedialog which loads the content of the selected patch into the clipboard.
now just CTRL+V into any other patch.

I was wondering… why double right click for creating an IObox when we have a single right click with no dragging free? (although that would be part of the proposed suer defined shotsuts, it could even go for default)

you might want to check out vvvv-sdk PinServer branch: direct writing & reading pins.
and talk to vux and joreg since they are already writing something which might go into a similar direction.
