Dragging cable - creating node - choosing input pin

I like the new patching method: starting to type while still dragging the cable. it’s really fast. but I feel its power is a little held back when it comes to nodes with multiple input pins of the same datatype, as is always connects to the first compatible one.

before spawning the node, there could be an option that let’s me choose the input pin I want my data to connect to. maybe the node spawns greyed out and I still drag my cable, being able to hover over the inputs and read their names, before I make my final decision.

this behaviour could also be applied to regions

yes, that would improve patching quite a bit. this is already on our list, most likely you will be able to choose the pin via left/right arrow keys and confirm with enter or click at an empty area.
